The ethereal being held him close as he felt his sleep suddenly starting to take over. He huddled very close to her, holding the plush doll, making sure she was real. That she was here. And that he hadn't been dreaming now or before.
"Will you stay with me?"
"Yes. Sleep, I'll be here."
"No, I mean... will you be with me? Will you stay with me forever, Kumiko?"
The girl gave a small laugh as she gently rocked the child in her arms. "I think you're too young to be asking me that, Sora."
"Then I'll get *yawn* older."
She nodded, a small sadness looming over her as she knew what it meant when the children grew up. She kissed his head, his brown spikes tickling her skin. She began to hum a small lullaby and Sora could feel his eyes becoming heavier. He gently shook his head and murmured "I don't... want... to sleep yet..." And with his last words becoming a slur, Kumiko knew he had fallen asleep. He was so innocent and pure. She couldn't help but feel her heart becoming so heavy with sadness at having to one day let him go. She smiled at him and gave him a kiss on the forehead, making him and herself a promise.
You won't be alone... I promise I'll never abandon you... I promise I'll be your Guardian forever... I promise I'll love you forever...

_{I love this Sora model!!! He is just precious!!!! And of course, a sudden inspiration hit me to make this pic! I don't know what was going through my mind, but I just felt like I needed to make this. I found it irresistibly cute! And of course, I just love the stage as well.

As for the story fragment? I don't know. Just something that crossed my mind while making it. ;w;
